Fagor Portable Induction Cooktop From Zero to Hot
The uninitiated can get comfortable with induction cooking about halfway through the first recipe. Just an authoritative tap of your finger on the sleek glass and you’re cooking.
$199.95 AT SUR LA TABLE The cooking speed, energy efficiency and safety features would appeal to any cook, but for the geek-leaning-gourmet it’s powerfully seductive. A week of meals prepared on the Fagor Portable Induction Cooktop all came out famously. At least 10 minutes was shaved off the Irish porridge ritual and about the same for a pot of evenly cooked Greek lima beans. Coho Salmon shallow-poached in white wine, mustard and blood orange juice benefited from the ability to shift from low to a higher heat fast for sauce reduction. This cooktop is portable and surprisingly light. Since it’s not a burner that would scorch stray food it cleans with a wipe. This induction cooktop is going to stay very busy as an alternate cooking unit, a warmer and as the trusty to-go cooker for the summer rental. (14" x 12" x 2¾") |
