Small Kitchen Joy
The Kalorik Espresso Maker is an outstanding gift for anyone with a micro-kitchen. In a tiny six by nine inch footprint, this intuitively designed, 3.5 bar boiler pressure espresso machine uses steam to make 2 to 4 cups of espresso in a flash. The swivel jet frother is simple to use and makes substantial froth. For the price of about a dozen specialty cuppas from a coffeehouse, one can have a daily espresso or cappuccino for years. If your typical morning demands that copious amounts of coffee are ready and waiting for you and you have some extra space, the Kalorik Coffee Maker Grinder Combo is worth a look. It grinds and brews 10 cups of coffee in a nine by twelve inch footprint.

As is the case with most low-cost steam espresso makers made for the home, the crema that forms is scant. This is probably not sufficient for an espresso aficionado, but then again aficionados are most likely shopping for espresso makers well above the $50 mark. A four cup carafe is provided with the Kalorik Espresso Maker, but espresso can be made straight into a cup. The function switch has a pause function which allows for frothing immediately following espresso making, though if you make 4 cups of espresso, you may have to add some extra water. Some online product reviews mentioned a hard to understand manual, but this was not our experience. The manual was plainly written and we were making cappuccinos in minutes after the first-time cleaning process. The Kalorik 4 cup Espresso Maker is an economical and all-round good choice for home espresso making.
